Acceptable use policy

This policy forms part of the terms of service. It is short because the service is narrow: it estimates how long a garment lasts and divides a price by that estimate. Nearly everything below follows from what it is not fit for.

1Scope

1.1

This policy applies to everyone who uses Perwear, on every plan, including the free one.

2Prohibited high-risk uses

The output is not fit for any of these

Perwear produces estimated ranges about textile durability. It must not be used to inform, support or justify a decision in any of the following areas:

  • Medical — any decision affecting diagnosis, treatment or health.
  • Legal — any decision affecting legal rights, obligations or proceedings.
  • Financial — investment, lending, insurance, valuation or any other financial decision.
  • Safety — any safety-critical assessment, including protective equipment.
  • Employment — hiring, assessment, discipline or dismissal.
  • Credit — creditworthiness or credit terms.
  • Housing — tenancy, allocation or eligibility.
  • Judicial and law enforcement — any decision by, or evidence before, a court or enforcement body.

Do not present output from this service as a professional opinion, a certification, a test result or a guarantee of durability, and do not remove the range from a figure so that it reads as an exact count.

3What you may not upload

3.1
  • Photographs of identifiable people. The service needs a label and a piece of fabric, nothing else.
  • Anything you do not have the right to upload, including copyright material belonging to someone else.
  • Unlawful material of any kind, or material designed to harass, defame or endanger anyone.
  • Malware, or content intended to attack or degrade the service or its users.
  • Personal data about other people.

4Conduct

4.1

Do not:

  • share your account, or use one account for several people;
  • attempt to circumvent plan limits, allowances or the free-plan watermark;
  • scrape, bulk-download or systematically extract the coefficient table or any other part of the service for resale;
  • resell access, or present the service as your own;
  • probe, scan or test the security of the service without written permission, or attempt to access another user's data;
  • use automated means to create accounts or generate load beyond ordinary personal use.
4.2

Security researchers acting in good faith are welcome — write to support@corgihosiery.shop first and we will agree a scope with you.

5Eligibility

5.1

You must be at least 18. You must not use the service if you are subject to sanctions that prohibit the supply of services to you, or if using it would be unlawful where you are.

6How this is enforced

6.1

Where we believe this policy has been broken we may limit, suspend or close the account. Except where immediate action is needed to protect other users or the service, we tell you first, explain what we think happened, and give you the chance to respond.

6.2

If we close a paid account for a breach, we refund the unused part of the current period. If we got it wrong, we reinstate the account.
